POSITION TITLE: Specialist - STEM Teacher

DEPARTMENT: Curriculum and Instruction

WORK DAYS: 190 days

REPORTS TO: Principal

PAY SCALE: Based on Certification and Years of Experience

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Educational Level Preferred: Masters Degree
  • Certification/License Required: Early Childhood Preferred: Leadership 
  • Experience: 5+ years as a teacher students 
  • Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; travel to research other facilities and program opportunities
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication skills, planning and organizational skills, ability to manage time with flexibility; leadership/supervisory skills; computer technology skills

The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
  • Effective Knowledge of Math, Science, Technology and STEM Standards and curriculum
  • Confers with the principals and/or teachers on student achievement as requested
  • Provides appropriate and regular reports concerning student achievement data
  • Compiles statistical data on student achievement
  • Develops an improved understanding of STEM Initiatives
  • Works with principals in organizing and coordinating STEM education and events  in their building
  • Supports schools with development of STEM in the classroom
  • Leads school-based and district-wide professional learning on integration of STEM
  • Provide faculty and staff Professional Learning
  • Performs other duties as assigned
