Anticipated Leadership Opening – Rome City Schools
POSITION TITLE: Anticipated Leadership Vacancy (School-Based or Central Office)
DEPARTMENT: School Administration / Central Office
WORK DAYS: 240 Days
REPORTS TO: Director of Staff Development & Human Resources
PAY SCALE: Based on District Leadership Salary Schedule
POSITION PURPOSE
Rome City Schools is seeking highly qualified, forward-thinking leaders for anticipated administrative openings for the upcoming school year. These leadership positions may be school-based or central office based on district needs and candidate expertise.
Successful candidates will support the district’s mission through the lens of Rome City Schools’ Four Pillars: Student Achievement, Staff Development, Stakeholder Engagement, and Safety & Operations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Achievement
- Provide leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instructional and support programs that improve student performance.
- Use student data to guide decisions, close achievement gaps, and promote continuous improvement.
- Support curriculum alignment, assessment practices, and instructional effectiveness across assigned areas.
Staff Development
- Supervise, support, and evaluate employees as assigned.
- Promote professional growth through coaching, feedback, and professional learning opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high expectations for staff performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Communicate effectively to promote transparency, trust, and shared ownership of district goals.
- Represent Rome City Schools professionally in meetings, events, and community interactions.
Safety & Operations
- Support the maintenance of safe, orderly, and well-managed learning and work environments.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Support efficient use of resources, facilities, and district services.
Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
- Support implementation of district policies, initiatives, and strategic plans.
- Participate in budgeting, scheduling, purchasing, and resource management as assigned.
- Collaborate with school and central office teams to ensure organizational effectiveness.
Other Duties
- Perform other leadership responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Administration, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
- Valid Georgia leadership certification (or eligible to obtain)
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in education
- Prior leadership experience at the school or district level preferred
